What should I look for in a real estate agent trying to sell my home? Help me!

I have a good friend who just got his driver agent real estate, but has no experience and I have to sell my house quickly! What should I do? Should not be a real estate agent with experience with customers looking for home and advertising on other sites and stuff? I really need advice! Help!

Never hire a friend. We had to learn by crook. Especially one with no experience. Our friend had 2 years experience. We gave our list. He agreed to do so in a contract of 3 months. In addition, agreed to take only 5%. We had the announcement of his for 6 months. At that time did very little advertising. We had to make our own brochures and posters that did not have enough budget to be new. The company would not agree with our prices and reduced by about $ 50 000 in 6 months. Sent only five buyers to see the house within 6 months. We are not friends of your choice. We listed the house with a real estate agent who agreed to very low, only 3% if they share with another company and 2% if you sell your office. On the other hand, if we sell you anything. Do not be fooled into the hype not the highest commission, the better your chances are selling fast. That will not fly in this market. Realtors are becoming competitive. Even a 5% commission is high in those days. Another thing to consider is how the selling agent on his behalf and in your case. Many customers like BS in marketing techniques of fantasy and the way they are No. 1 in the region. Not everyone can be number one you can? Interview at least 6-8 staff of various companies and offices. You should find one that seems to be realistic and understand and not give you a much to the way they are very good. The irony is that we have a great deal when we were prior to sale by owner. The only problem is that the buyer has a house for sale too. We had more buyers to come through when we did we were in private and when the list. You need a real estate agent "Understands" TE-seller! They have to work for you and not the buyer. A friend is not a good idea to have as your agent. It becomes very difficult. I wish you good luck. This is a rotten time for sale only by the media gives a lot of misinformation. Once again, good luck to you.
